Factions

The Pro Trader includes five major factions. Mongols, Rangers, Spartans, and Vikings each represent a unique algorithm, and Wizards consists of nine separate algorithms or 'spells'.

Faction

Specifies the Primary Faction (algorithm) used to generate trend signals. The Pro Trader will not use other algorithms to determine trends unless they are activated as Secondary Factions in the Confluence or Super Trends section. In this case, Secondary Factions must agree with the Primary faction in order for trend signals to fire. If Secondary Factions do not agree, the system will enter a Technical Ranging condition. Technical ranging is indicated by a 'Ranging' signal and chart candles and the Pro Trader Calculations Table will appear yellow.

Technical Indicators

Each customizable algorithm determines trend direction with calculations based on the technical indicators shown below:

Average True Range (ATR)

Relative Strength Index (RSI)

Average Directional Index (ADX)

Moving Average Convergence/Divergence (MACD)

Isolating Factions for Optimization

Each faction can be used in isolation or in confluence with other factions. If multiple factions are used in a strategy, each faction should be isolated and optimized individually before backtesting the complete strategy. The Strategy Optimization section provides details on Islotating Factions.
